Our HSE appointed doctors can help with the medical surveillance in accordance with the Ionising Radiations Regulations. We can also provide professional occupational health advice if you have any concerns in relation to a pregnant worker or employees who have been accidentally exposed to a high dose of Ionising Radiations.

Ionising Radiations includes a wide range of electromagnetic radiations and energetic atomic particles. Ionising Radiations has the capacity to penetrate the body and cause harm. Radiation is commonly used in different operations such as non-destructive testing, electricity generation, medical research and diagnostic procedures. Also some employees are exposed to a higher level of naturally occurring radiation for example aircrew and miners. Employees who are at a higher risk of radiation in work are known as classified works. They need to be periodically assessed by a doctor who is formally approved by the HSE.
